How can I help my first grader who feels lonely at recess because everyone already has a best friend?
This breaks my heart a bit. My daughter comes home saying she walked around at recess again because the other kids already have best friends. She's not being bullied, she's just shy and slow to jump in. I don't want to make it a huge thing, but what helped your child find one friend?
One small playdate helped more than all my pep talks. I asked the teacher who she sat near happily, then invited that child to the playground. Side by side play was easier than a big house playdate.
