How do you fit Regents retake support around junior-year classes without making a teen repeat a whole course they mostly understood?
My 16-year-old needs another attempt at a Regents exam and is already worried about fitting prep around junior year. They understood some topics much better than others. What would you ask a tutor so the plan focuses on the actual gaps instead of starting everything again?
I'd ask them to review the available schoolwork and practice results before proposing a package. I want a list of the topics needing attention and how they'll check them again, not just a promise to cover the whole syllabus.
Put the school timetable on the table too. If the tutor's plan only works when your teen has endless free evenings, it isn't the right plan. I'd ask which work belongs in sessions and what they expect between them.
I'd check the retake arrangements with the school rather than leave that entirely to the tutor. Knowing who handles registration and what dates matter would let your teen focus on preparing instead of guessing about the admin.
