How do you help with middle school science when class is mostly vocab lists and rushed labs?
My 7th grader likes animals and space, but science class this year is alot of memorizing words and rushed labs. She says she doesn’t really understand the point of the units. I don’t want to do flashcards forever. What do parents do at home to make science make sense?
Short videos after the lesson helped us. Not before, because then it was random. After class, a 5 minute animation made the vocab click.
Connect words to real stuff. Photosynthesis was boring until we grew herbs on the window sill and talked about light, water, leaves.
