How do you keep kindergarten pickup clear when a child moves between two homes and different adults collect them on different days?
My 5-year-old is starting kindergarten and we're sorting out pickup between two homes. The grown-ups know the plan, mostly, but I don't want our child standing there worried about who is coming. What system keeps school informed without making the kid responsible for our calendar?
I'd give the school one agreed version through whatever system they use, with a clear process for changes. A calendar on your fridge doesn't help the adult at dismissal. I'd also confirm that every collecting adult has completed the school's authorization steps.
For your child, I'd use a simple picture for that day's pickup person, not the whole complicated week. If plans change, the adults handle it. I would keep repeating that they don't have to remember messages or sort out disagreements for us.
