How do you know when school anxiety needs extra help, not just more reassurance from you?

School mornings have gotten rough. My 9 year old says her stomach hurts, mostly on presentation days or when there's partner work. She has friends, and I don't think bullying is happening. I keep reassuring her, but the worry keeps coming back. When did you get extra help?

For us it was when the worry spread. First math tests, then sleepovers, then birthday parties. Therapy helped because it was not just Mom saying breathe.

I would talk to the teacher first and ask what she sees. We made small supports at school, like practicing presentations in a smaller group. That was enough for a while.

If it is affecting sleep, eating, or weekends, I would not wait too long. Therapy does not mean something is terribly wrong, it can just be tools.
