When is it worth trying a parent-and-child dance class instead of a drop-off class for a 3-year-old who keeps checking where you are?
We tried a dance taster and my 3-year-old spent most of it running over to make sure I was still there. She liked the music, just not being across the room from me. Would you choose a class we do together for now, or give the drop-off setup another go?
I'd choose the together class if she actually enjoys dancing with you. We don't need every activity to be practice for separating. You can ask whether parents gradually step back during the term, but I wouldn't buy a whole course hoping she'll become a different child by week two.
