Where could we take a preschooler for a low-key music outing in Brooklyn before school starts without signing up for another class?

We've got one last bit of time before pre-K and my 4-year-old is climbing the furniture. I'd love a music or story outing where we can enjoy ourselves and leave without a membership conversation. Anyone looking at something simple in Brooklyn this week?

BPL lists Stomp, Clap and Sing with Patrick Davis at Central Library Plaza today, September 8, from 10:30 to 11:30, for birth to five. I'd check the listing before heading over, especially if you're traveling: https://www.bklynlibrary.org/calendar/stomp-clap-and-sing-central-library-plaza-20260908-1030am

I'd make the outing the main thing rather than adding errands afterward. For my preschooler, a short music visit and then home would be a nicer last free morning than trying to fill every hour.

Bring whatever makes leaving easier for your child, and don't feel you have to stay for the whole event. I'd rather leave after a good half hour than turn a pleasant morning into a battle about being tired.
